Actively blogging, is something that all of us who have a business should be doing on a consistent basis. It took me a while to get into the blogging bit because I'm not much of a writer and I wasn't really into storytelling or expressing my thoughts but once I decided to just let everything else go and write what's on my mind, it became easier and easier and quite actually, enjoyable too and now blogging is a part of my monthly marketing routine.
Now, what separates blogging from any other social media platform is that with a blog, you can really express yourself with what I like to call "Professionally Personal Writing" I know you are wondering, what the heck does that mean, well, this is where you can share tips, share your industries latest news or teach your audience something new about your product or service but your blogging all of that with your personality mixed in. The way you chat with your family, friends and neighbors should be how you blog to your audience minus the explicit and off the chart slang words. Let your personality shine through.
What I also like about blogging is that there are no ‘Character Limits’, your post won’t get lost in the ever-growing bottomless ‘Algorithm’ pit, you don’t have to ‘Buy' your way to the top or ‘Hang Out‘ in a Circle’ of so-called ‘Connections’. Blogging is all about you, the person behind the business, sharing your thoughts, feelings, ideas, vision and creativity. Blogging allows you to create an additional way to get your business message out to the masses, without sounding too much like a business, if you get what I mean. Below are just a few of my Business Blogging Tips. I hope they help you become a better blogger. Check it out.
1. KEEPING IT REAL – If you want more people to check out your blog, it’s time to start getting real and what I mean by that is, you need to be you, not the owner, or boss of the business but you. Who are you when you are not working? That’s who the readers want to connect with.
2. BE SPECIFIC – When you are blogging, what is it that you want your readers to walk away with? Ensure that the topic of choice, is clearly stated in your headline and make the headline catchy and attention grabbing too.
3. USE IMAGES – Images are great for blogs. Your blog images should be colorful, bright and eye catching.
4. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE – Your writing style should reflect the audience you are trying to reach. Get to know your audience, reach out to them with polls and quetionnaires and ensure your content is relatable to them. Don't over complicate your blog and just have fun with it.
