What Does Engagement Marketing Mean To You?

When I hear, see or use the words Engagement Marketing, I'm not talking about selling or even curating content for that matter.  What I'm talking about is Building that Customer/Client Relationship.  Really getting to know who your audience is and what they are all about.  Getting your audience to trust and believe in your Brand and finally, getting your audience to really know who you are.

Most of us as business owners can come up with some good post and tweets and some of us even take it a step further by trying to really engage with the audience member but did you know you can go a step further?  Let me explain.  If you really want to engage in your marketing, you need to engage in building that relationship and gaining trust first and to do that you need to reach out to your audience and get to know them.  I mean for real, seriously.  I know for a lot of you that seems like an impossible task because you have so many fans, follows and connection but you can still do it by what you say or do in your post.

Are you asking questions?  are you getting their opinions on certain subjects and topics?  Are you listening to what they want to see, watch and read?  Are you communicating with them, using their name?  Are you sharing possible similar experiences whether it be professional or personal and talking to them like they've been your neighbor for years?  Are you being honest with them when mistakes happen or about the things going on in your personal or professional like that you chose to share?  This is Engagement to me.  Connecting, Building Relationships and Gaining Trust.

If you are struggling to reach out and connect with your audience, try some of the things that I mentioned in the post and see if you don't get a better response.  Keep in mind that you must be transparent and NOT come off as faking it, Get Real with yourself, Get Real with your audience and then Keep It Real forever.  It's not that hard to do.

The Swing Of Things

Happy New Year Everyone.  Can you believe it's 2017?  WOW.  How excited are you for what this year is going to bring you?  How excited are you to take your business marketing into a new level?  What's that you say, you haven't thought about?  The loss of Holiday Spirit has got you down you say.  I know how that feels but I'm here to share with you a few tips to get you back into the swing of things and make 2017 the Best Social Media Marketing year you've had so far.

Feeling draggy, humdrum, bored, lazy, stuffed and tired, yep the Holidays will do that to you not to mention, put a ruffle in all the social media marketing strides you've made in 2016.  It's a new year and it's time to kick your social media marketing into high gear and get out of your Holiday Slump.
  1. Get Started Now.  There is no time like the present to get back into the swing of things.  Try your best not to procrastinate or delay, get your social media marketing and content calendars out and start scheduling content and post right now.
  2. Holiday Sharing.  If you feel you don't have any ideas for content, Haha, think again.  Use your holiday experiences with family, friends and colleagues to fill your content calendars, I'm sure you have a ton of juicy and interesting stories that we would all love to read about but remember to also keep it clean, LoL
  3. Trend Doer.  If you delayed getting started on tools that were trending in 2016 hoping that they would somehow magically go away, I can tell you, that didn't happen so don't wait anymore, get on the trending train now such as using Live Streaming, Video Marketing, Blogging and more as part of your everyday marketing strategy.
  4. Ask for Help.  I have many friends that are like this.  They think they've got it all under control.  They are afraid to ask questions or get real help when needed.  Don't be that way. Seek the advice and assistance of someone experienced in social media marketing.  Let them help you get on the right track and stay on it.  the value of experience that you receive can be beneficial to you in more ways than one.

I hope these tips help you get out of your Holiday Marketing Slump and get into the 2017 Marketing Bonanza.  Thanks for reading and please feel free to comment and share.
